Trademarks are a unique distinction designed to identify products or services as coming from a unique source, designated for a specific market and traceable to a specific entity. Decisively the most efficient and secure branding device available to business owners, the trademark is used to protect companies products, and to ensure that services, images and product lines are not duplicated or used inappropriately in the market. All US trademarks are registered and monitored by the US Department of Patent and Trademarks and designated by specific symbols or service marks.
Dot Registry LLC is specifically committed to protecting the rights of trademark holders and has created a series of Rights Protection Mechanisms to ensure continued compliance and protection for registered trademarks. Through DOT Registry’s unique sunrise periods, trademark holders are offered advance registration options, the ability to secure their trademark from unauthorized use, and the option to contest other applicants applying for use of any given trademark.
Any Registrant that holds a trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), will have priority over any other Registrant to be awarded the applied-for entity-specific domain, assuming that the trademark matches their legal business entity name.
Each trademark application will be cross-referenced through the Trademark Clearing House to ensure that the Registrant is in fact the trademark owner and priority evaluations will take place in order to revoke improperly awarded domains associated to a registered trademark.
